Headlining this weeks newsletter, the Kintyre Songwriters Festival 3rd-5th May

The Kintyre Songwriting Festival
Friday 3rd May – Sunday 6th May

The Kintyre Songwriting Festival that started back in 2008 supports local talent by giving them a platform in which to perform to a very appreciative and discerning audience. I didn’t know this but it also sponsors the Kenneth Gilchrist Memorial Quaich For Original Songwriting which is an award given in conjunction with Campbeltown Grammar.

On Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday afternoons there’s an open stage at Commercial Inn and in the evenings the newly redeveloped Town Hall will be the venue for the Saturday and Sunday seated concerts which is hoped to be comfortable for performers and guests from as far afield as Los Angeles, Barcelona and Berlin if last year was anything to go by!

Looking at the video and the photos from previous events this looks like it’s going to be unmissable! More information can be found at their website so please contact them for ticket info and lineup updates: http://www.kintyresongwritersfestival.co.uk/

Note: According to the poster, tickets are also available from AP Taylor at Campbeltown Town Hall.

The Kintyre Way ULTRA!
Saturday 11th May 2019

A trail run challenge like no other.

The Kintyre Way is one of Scotland’s most iconic and scenic hiking paths stretching the length of the remote Kintyre Peninsula. With stunning scenery showing you islands, beaches, hill, dale and forest, this 100 mile trail is a mighty challenge, but a beautiful one you can’t refuse.

Clearly this isn’t me! Could it be you?

But dinna fash yirsel! The Kintyre Way ULTRA isn’t 100 miles long. No really. You’ll be relieved to learn that this year it’s ONLY a 32 mile trail run from Tayinloan to Tarbert. There’s also the option of a three stage relay too. Phew!

Give it a go!
